Speculaas is a simultaneous card picking, card placing and set collecting game for 1-5 players, intended for ages 10 and up, with a playing time of about 20 minutes.
Speculaas are spiced shortcrust cookies that originate from Belgium and the Netherlands, and are usually shaped into various shapes such as windmills, ships and animals. The spice mix consists of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and white pepper.
In Speculaas, players are pastry chefs who try to score the most points by collecting Spice cards and matching them with Recipe cards (scoring cards).
